Here we go! Week 10 is upon us and there is a lot to talk about. Here is the injury update for week 10.
Christian McCaffrey (Carolina Panthers) – well, it was fun while it lasted. I’m just joking, McCaffrey is expected to only miss this week with a shoulder injury. We have seen this situation before and we should know what to expect. Mike Davis will take over as the main guy with Curtis Samuel also being involved. This is a tough matchup, however, so I don’t expect a high ceiling.
Kenny Golladay (Detroit Lions) – He was questionable earlier this week but has since then, been ruled out. Marvin Jones should get more targets as well as Danny Amendola. This is a decent matchup that can give value to both receivers.
David Johnson (Houston Texans) – Johnson is out with a concussion meaning Johnson will take over. Duke Johnson that is. Duke can do a decent job filling David’s shoes as Duke is a pretty solid pass catcher. Duke should be a must-start this week as he has a tremendous opportunity.
Gardner Minshew/Laviska Shenault Jr. (Jacksonville Jaguars) – bot have been declared out for this week as Jake Luton will continue to lead this offense. It seems to me that Luton will be the starter for the remainder of the season. This means that DJ Chark is the only receiver with value at the moment until proven otherwise.
Justin Jackson (Los Angeles Chargers) – Jackson has been ruled out with a knee injury. Kalen Ballage is expected to be called back up from the practice squad and will share the backfield with Joshua Kelley. Ballage has the higher upside but the lower floor.
Deebo Samuel/Tevin Coleman (San Francisco 49ers) – Both have been declared out this week. The run game will be a split between Hasty and McKinnon but they are going up against the Saints defense. This is a rough matchup and I would not recommend starting either of them but if you needed to start one, it should be McKinnon.
Kenyan Drake (Arizona Cardinals) – Drake will be a game-time decision this week vs the Bills. This is a difficult situation because this is an afternoon game. Either way, Chase Edmonds should be starting in your lineup this week. Drake should start in your lineup if he plays, just make sure to have a backup plan that plays in the afternoon or later.
David Montgomery (Chicago Bears) – Montgomery is still in concussion protocol and has not practiced all week. The only reason he hasn’t been ruled out is that he has an extra day to heal as they play Monday night against the Vikings. I would not recommend taking the risk on Montgomery this week.
Joe Mixon (Cincinnati Bengals) – Mixon hasn’t officially been ruled out yet, but all signs are pointing to it. Head Coach Zac Taylor said that the plan is for Mixon to play next week. Giovani Bernard will once again take his place against this difficult Steelers defense. Bernard should be a decent start this week but don’t expect a week winning performance.
Robert Tonyan (Green Bay Packers) – Tonyan suffered an ankle injury on Thursday and did not practice on Friday. This is not a good sign for this week and I expect him to be out this Sunday. There are no backups that I’m willing to start if Tonyan is out.
Chris Carson (Seattle Seahawks) – Carson was very limited this Friday and is questionable. If Carson is out once again, Carlos Hyde will be the guy this week. If Hyde is out, it will be Deejay Dallas once again.
Mark Ingram (Baltimore Ravens) – Ingram finally has practiced in full this week and is fully expected to play. The issue, however, is that he will be splitting the backfield three ways with Dobbins and Edwards. There is little to no value here and I do not recommend starting any of these three, Dobbins if you need to pick one.
Allen Robinson (Chicago Bears) – Robinson was limited in practice this week but has an extra day to heal as he plays Monday night in a favorable matchup vs the Vikings. Robinson should be a must-start if he plays but make sure to have a backup like Darnell Mooney if Robinson is out.
Damien Harris (New England Patriots) – Harris has been dealing with a few injuries this week and is questionable. There are many reasons to not start Harris this week, Bad Matchup vs the Ravens, injuries, and Sony Michel is expected to return. Harris should only be starting on good matchups until proven otherwise.
T.J. Hockenson (Detroit Lions) – Hockenson was added to the injury report on Thursday but practiced on Friday. Hockenson has a favorable matchup and should receive some targets in Golladay’s absence.
Jerry Jeudy (Denver Broncos) – Jeudy is coming off the best game of his career last week. Jeudy was listed on the injury report but is fully expected to play unless there is a setback. I like this matchup this week and I want all the shares in this passing game.
